Guinea Pigs needed - got something you want to sort out?
Jasper - 16/11/06 at 11:36 AM

I'm currently doing a 1 year Neuro Linguistic Programming course. It's a form of therapy that uses language to change negative thought processes.

We're in need of people to work on (under strict supervision) with the help of experienced trainers. You would only be in a small group - around 5 peope.

So if there's something you want to sort out - smoking or other addictions, any form of phobia's, stress, depression, anxiety or any other behaviours that you're not happy with and would like to sort out, then send me a U2U.

The course is located in Crouch End, NW London, and you would need to be there on a Sunday morning around 11am. We meet once a month, usually the third week.

This is a great opportunity to deal with something for FREE - our instructor charges £140 an hour for his services.

I've also got more information if you just want to find out a little more about it before commiting.

This would, of course, all be kept in the most strict confidence - and you would have to be in a group with me in it either.

Hi Jasper,

Hope the course goes well! It will be intersting to see how you get on... Certainly NLP has a bad press sometimes...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuro-linguistic_programming

is but one example....
I looked into it a few years back but decided to stick with hypnotherapy. There's some cross over between the two of course...
One of the reasons why NLP gets bad press is that Derren Brown and Paul McKenna go on about it so much when there is evidence that they're definately of the "entertainment" style of popular science. In fact Derren Brown's C4 website got moved a few years back from "science" to "entertainment"....

Please don't think I'm saying you shouldn't do the course, after all there is a lot of money in NLP (), just wanted to make sure you go in with your eyes open!!!

Thank's Ben - one of the first things we were told when we started was that if we used our skills for entertainment purposes then we would struck off the list of British Institute of Hypnotherapy, which I shall be a member of when I qualify.

The guy who is our instructor was taught by the guys who started it in the US, and is really well respected in his field.

The reason I'm doing the course is to be instructed in his method for dealing with people with ME - chronic fatigue. He seems to be the only person so far recognised to have a system that works for people with this terrible condition. Half the people on the course (over 25 of them) used to suffer with ME, a guy in my group was in a wheelchair for 2 years with it - and they are all now completely fine. My wife had ME for 6 years up till last July and has been totally fine since going on his course - which I witnessed - I was so impressed by his methods I'm now learning to do it myself. And with over 250,000 registered sufferers there will be no shortage of clients either....

I think I know a few of those patients with ME/CFS/PVFS- I'm a GP... In fact I used to work towards that neck of the woods in Hornsey Rise!! And I always think the best treatment in ME is the one that works for the individual patient (ie don't discount anything and try everything within reason!!)- great news about your wife BTW, it's a tricky condition to live with otherwise. Certainly there's good evidence for psychological intervention of one sort or another in ME and evidence that patients who have an open mind re the cause of ME and an open mind to treatment options have a much greater chance of recovering / improving. So maybe I shouldn't be so tough on NLP- I've just seen cases where it (ie NLP) becomes "the treatment" at the exclusion of everything else- the accusations cult-like status for some flavours of NLP seem to ring true sometimes. But if it works and its recognised by the BIH then what's the downside!!!
Hope it goes well!

Thanks Ben - I know what you mean about NLP being a bit 'hardcore' - it can come across like that. Actually NLP is nearly all hypnotherapy, I suppose the difference is the way it's used.

I'm up there again this weekend and certainly looking forward to it!

So if you know any 'stuck' people with ME send them over

Lowering the tone with your breast fixation, great big breasts with lovely pink tips and little pointy ones with dark areoli.

Jasper, help!
