Golf GTI Mk4 leak
givemethebighammer - 25/11/06 at 09:42 PM

Can anyone help, my friend has an "S" reg 150BHP Golf GTI MK4 and there is water getting in to the left hand side of the boot from somewhere. He's taken a look and can't see anything obvious. I seem to remember reading that this was a common fault on these?

thanks

I got the same problem on my mk4 golf, it is a common quirk for the model

Interesting - I'm currently minding my daughter's S-reg GTi, and the other day I found that the rear nearside passenger footwell was soaking...

I wonder if this is a similar problem...

front carpets wet can be the drains at the rear of the top engine bay scutle ( where the wipers sit ) had this on my pasat. it was filling up and leaking down where the loom goes into the car drains were blocked with leaves a prodeler and the hose pipe.

thanks people

I also found out it can be the sunroof drain pipes that cause the problem.
