K series replacement????

is there any engine that would fit as a direct replacement (ie fit onto the gearbox) for a 1800 kseries??.

petrol or diesel as its for a tintop not a kit.

If it's Fwd I think the gearbox is Citroen based, could be wrong & I've no idea if the bellhousing bolt pattern is shared but worth a look?

The Hondas certainly did, but I thought the T16 shared the PG1 box with the 1.8K series?

For no good reason other than internal power strugles at BMW the 1.8 mates with a 5 speed Getrag box --- which isn't anything like as good as the PG series boxes.

The MGTF power pack continued to use the PG box.

Ah, I was thinking of the Elise actually, which uses the PG1. Didn't realise the 1.8 tin tops had a different box though.
