Whisky fan but oddly not a big drinker of it! Only have the one bottle on the go at the time for the odd evening tipple. Presently its my favourite - a 31 yr old rare (single) malt Linkwood.....by far and away the best whisky I've ever had....not like that earthy island crap! Oli.
I quite like Glenmorangie - 10yo, I have a bottle downstairs, but don't drink much of it - maybe a glass the odd evening.
I haven't been able to drink anything resembling whisky since, on a very drunken night, my mate and I mixed a half bottle of vodka with a half
bottle of scotch and drank the resulting 'cocktail'.
It's fair to say I didn't feel too healthy the next day!
Cheers,
James
Bowmore whiskey is really good - it has a slightly smoky taste which makes it a little different.
My current personal favourite is Laphroaig. Very smoky Islay - it's not a taste for everyone, and not as "smooth" as other malts but I get to keep it all to myself
I like it but it's wasted on me, once it's opened I can't leave it alone. Laphroaig as above is a nice drink, you wouldn't get it all to yourself here

My favourite is my 18year old Glenlivet
Must admit, I do like a wee dram every now and again. My particular favourite is a nice drop of Bell's blended scotch whisky with a nice big slug
of lemonade or coca cola.............
Phil
I hope your hanging your head in shame right now
I have a bottle of 1966 Macallan sitting here.
I need to get rid of it as I hate the stuff, my recently departed dad was given it as a gift only realised the other day it's £170 a
bottle!!!!!
Open to sensible offers
All you Whisky lovers are going to hate me for this, a few years ago i inherited 71 single malts the oldest is a 21 year old Springbank the most
expensive is probably a 14 year old Cragganmore, Special Edition, bottle number 0038, not much of that one left.
Some times i display them in alphabetical order and sometimes by Geography:....
Then there was the wine celler
We drank all the white wines quickly and now down to only 48 reds and one box of 1st Cru.
Seriously thinking of a "Drink Scotch for charity day"
Just can't work out how people could get home

There is a good use for cheapo blended stuff, putting it in the Christmas cake or sticking it in a cup of coffee when you have a bad cold (works
wonders!).
Single malt all the way for actual sipping whiskey though, and must be neat, no water or ice to spoil the flavour.
I do enjoy a nice malt. Laphroig is also a favourite of mine. However for simplicity i do enjoy a JD and Coke!!!
Next door neighbour is a big fan and keeps dropping me a wee dram off when he opens a bottle... which is nice! Last one was 58%, he didnt like it so
gave me just under half a bottle. Very nice chap indeed.
