a big hello to you all!
first let me say that i hope that you all had a fantastic christmas and a happy new year.
i was working all over christmas and i was on call from the 22nd of dec till the 5th of jan so it was a bit of a quiet festive period for me but an
extremely busy time for work. so as you can imagine the build had to take second place, much to my dis-pleasure!
BUT! im happy to say that i have started to build again, i have got garage heater for chrimbo and now my garage has become a sauna! i have uploaded a
few pictures on how my build is going,
here are a few photo's, all comments welcome,
next big step is getting the alternator in and getting the loom done (my worst fear about the build)
how are your builds coming on?
kindest regards
Alex
Coming on nicely Alex - not long now by the looks of it
Looking good Alex, I have a bit of spare time now if you need a bit of a hand with the wiring side.
Steve.
Hi Alex,
You've got to slow down !
otherwise you'll be finished before I've really got started
Are you using the Dax loom or making your own ?
what type of ignition are you going to use ?
Those exhaust primaries look massive
what diameter are they?
Looking good BTW

Looking very smart!
Just one observation, which you can read or ignore at your pleasure...
Does the bottom of the silencer hang below the floor line, as it appears to in the photo? Just that ground clearance is always an issue with these
cars, especially when running with a passenger, and it may end up banging on the bumps!
(but there may be more clearance than appears in the photo).
Nice work though!
David
Just an observation. Watch where you put your air filter when it is off the car, I always bag mine. I badly damaged an engine once because a 4mm
spring washer bounced unoticed into the aircleaner and it subsequently got sucked into the inlet! On the floor is not a good idea.

Looking good Alex, I like the green classic look. What shade of green is it?? If you don't mind me asking.
Keith.
looks like ive got a bit to answer here,
1)Rob (mercd1): mate i have used the vicki green pinto loom for the DAX, then im going to add in bits that are missing or extend exsisting wires etc.
i think that the DAX loom is FAR to expensive for what you get. V.G loom = £50 from stoneliegh DAX Loom = £300 +VAT
2)dave (big booby bouncing fitty) the primaries in the manifold are 2" diameter, and the inlet to the silencer is 2 1/2" so the pipes get
bigger
3)dave (chimp with funny hat) the silencer does hang below the floor line of the car but no more that the sump and gearbox, i must admit that i have
noticed that it is quite low,but i will see how it goes and if it does become a problem i will have to put your chimp thinking hat on and start
scratching my head
4)phil- thanks for the advice on the air filter buddy, sorry to hear that your had a bad experience with the washer but hopefully it didnt do too much
damage.
5)slater - the colour of the car id DAX's version of good old British Racing Green! i think it looks awesome and i have always liked it, got my
inspiration from the late jaguar F1 team car
few got them all in the
steve: im free on sat afternoon if you fancy popping over to help with wiring, sunday im off to see the northampton saints v's biarritz, heineken
cup match, with 20 work mates so may be a little under the influence and therefore car will be hybernating sunday
Alex, lets make it a weekend without distractions, it will take half a day to sort the best way to do it to suit your needs.before we get the tools
out,
Steve.

just keeping dizzy for the time being rob, i just want to get the thing running and moving under its own power before i start faffing around with mods
and upgrades,
how is you build coming along? havent heard from you in a while
Coming along nicely alex. How do you feel about the somewhat optimistic roll bar? I've always thought the dax bar to be a bit short.
well si, when i sit in the drivers seat it goes above my head, so im happy! not to sure about the passenger tho
You know the answer to that then! You having a windscreen or just an aero? I'm surprised that goes over you're head, I thought you were
tall?
im 5'11", to be honest i will probably get a screen but at a later date. i want to see how bareable it is without one first, plus its easier to pass sva without one
I think it depends upon the type of screen. Mine looks ok, but is useless, as it just lifts the airflow to my chin, so I still have to wear a helmet. A lower/steeper one might look better, and be more effective.
