Why does it seem to be beyond the capabilities of soooooo many Ebay sellers to light their photographs properly?
Now, I don't claim to be anything other than a point-and-shoot amateur, but even I know if it's dark, you turn lights on or use the flash.
Ex ample here. As far as I know the Raglan Little John he's selling is a nice machine, but he's gonna get less than he could have if only you could SEE the ruddy thing!!!!

Umm - the pictures look fine to me! The main one's slightly out of focus, but otherwise OK.

That's not a bad little lathe, BTW, as long as the price doesn't get too much higher.

The ruddy thing could have a crack running 7/8ths of the way round the bed and fire damage from all you can tell from those pics What I mean is, it doesn't take much effort to get someone to hold a light for you to ensure people can actually see what you are selling, does it?
And yes, you're right, it does look a little cracker

You were complaining about the lack of lighting! Now if you'd said about not seeing enough detail then I'd agree...

I'd want to be sure that all the bits were there, e.g. a full set of changewheels as they'd be hard to replace. Chucks are easy, assuming that it's got a threaded spindle nose.

Awright Mr 'I'm-awake-an'-all-me-brain-synapses-are-firin'-even-though-it's-Friday-night', I meant not being able to see detail, normally facillitated by good lighting (there, got 'im!)
I agree, having just bought an Atlas with it's changewheels missing they can be a bugger to find. I've got a handle on a set so I'm not too worried.

Early Friday night my brain works OK - different matter when I get back from the pub later on...
