No probs; the more info the better. I was thinking one could get a normal locost & make custom wings, bonnet bulge etc out of sheet aluminium using the welding method posted here.

I think it would be a unique UK car.
Heres the Striker compared to the Scatto.

The plot thickens. After a lot of searching I found some pictures of what lies under neath. Maybe some other members could comment on the build?

ahh yes , better stick a turbo on that thing !!

I had a PM of a memeber from a chap who was interested in the running gear not so long back , and this looked a little like it.

basically thats a B234 - 155bhp with balance shafts etc .

best to chuck the balance shafts out , if the belt breaks , you lose the cam belt and the oil pump (its external) , not saying its unreliable , thats what can happen .

the marine engines used this setup with the more convential B230 block and 16v but with a stroked crank - ie 2.5 litres - it uses the same rods just slightly taller pistons .

with the advent of manufacturing in china - a fully forged H beam rod/lightweight piston will cost less than a grand - from there youre good to go - with anything upto 600 hp on std cams and 2 bar boost .

normally aspirated , capacity is the king and these get stroked out to 2.8 litres and about 280hp , its the favourite rallycross engine ..

adapters are easily available in sweden to getrag gearboxes , the cossie 2wd box has been made to fit also , a TKO tremec lists at £1600- thats good enough for 600 ft/lbs .

if its got a volvo rear then itll be pretty much bullet proof - even the escort boys are using them as atlas replacements . LSD and CWP are available from sweden and the US , since its a dana 30 diff thats used in all the jeeps .

any more info ?

is there a website for that thing ?
