Pointless accessory
Peteff - 4/2/07 at 12:49 PM

I just saw a silver Corsa go past the house with spoilers, wheels ,big exhaust etc. all done quite nicely, every 18 year old's dream car, but when he changed gear there was a noise that sounded like an angry monkey trapped under the bonnet. I can only assume it was a dump valve sound effect as the car was not that fast and didn't sound like it had a turbo fitted. It made me laugh and it made a few people jump but I don't think anybody was impressed by it.

Don't you get those free with Burberry Caps?

unfortunately I'd guess your right, if you look in the Demon Theives catalogue, there is an "electronic dump valve," which is just a high power tweeter under the bonnet. Sad I know.
Regards
Matt

A pox on all Chavs,

So my idea of a whistle that bolts to your engine's air intake and sound's like a supercharger wouldn't be too popular on here then?

Confused but excited. - 4/2/07 at 03:55 PM

I'm sure you can already get something similar, it's like a little turbine blade you stuff up your 15" exhaust that makes a whooshy sound...

Heh, I remember that, bits of cornflakes packet in the spokes held on the frame with clothes pegs.

Peteff - 5/2/07 at 10:45 AM

Park Drive packet found on any pavement near you folded into four was my chosen method.

NO! This explains some weird sounding boy racer cars I've been hearing, a massive explosion every time they change gear yet are just crawling along.

How chronically sad.

Saying that I am getting a set of straight cut cam cogs made for my v6 purely for the outrageous racket they make (think 90mph in reverse kind of sound!), so I suppose each to their own...

Funny you should say that Jon, just before you joined us in TGI's at Heathrow last Sunday i had the exact same conversation with my gaffer when looking at the Chopper they had on display.

I used to turn the mudflap up on the back wheel of my Striker. For some strange reason it didnt last too long before being worn away!
