Romanian?
mistergrumpy - 5/2/07 at 04:43 PM

Just wondered if anyone here can speak Romanian? We're having problems with them begging aggressively at work and they crack on not to speak English so I was after a few words that I could write on a card or summat to the effect of go away or you'll get arrested.

No clues for guessing what that means...

Departe de noi vă urâm

go away we hate you (is the translation)

No no. I need something polite. "Please stop begging and leave or else you will be arrested" "Feck off" or "we hate you" will probably get me arrested too

Got this from the demo at etranslator.ro :

Vă rugați să duceți și oprire rugând.

"Please go away and stop begging"

hope this helps,

Vince

They will just laugh at you if you try the polite way.
Go straight for FECK OFF.
With brass knobs.
Steve.

Just carry a pocket full of steel washers suitably dulled with phosphoric acid etc.
just sling a few in his can / cap / box or whatever collecting devices they use.
They will soon get the picture.
OR... Simply report them to the police, begging is an offence, and so is it when they hassle you.

PS... If they are on a good spot, they can "earn" more than you do.

Erm, I am the police, well PCSO. We'd rather get rid of them than lock them up if we can. Its just an idea I had earlier as shouting and pointing doesn't work. I thought if I give it to them in their own language then there's no excuses (except if they can't read!). I've gotta try and photograph them to get an arrest and I stand out like a dogs pink one in my bright yellow jacket so they tend to hide their signs and get on their way for a bit.
Cheers for that Vince, just what I wanted

we had probs with them round here a few years ago washing windscreens at traffic lights.
plod wernt interested, only language they understood was a smack in the mouth

PCSO? haven't you lot got even less power than a member of public when it comes to making an arrest?

Mate of mine is in the MET and reckons some of his pcso's are getting targetted by yobs more and more regular as the little gits learn the limits of there powers.

Thats what we get for letting them into the EU!

Yeah this is certainly true in some areas but there's still some uncertainty in other areas which is good...and then there's "ahem" poetic licence. BUt basically I just watch and note all the low life drug dealers, car thiefs etc. bang intell. in about them and we raid their homes or arrest them. It all comes around but can be very frustrating when they're in your face.
We had the windscreen washers at the lights too in Manchester but they beggared off after a while. What really gets me is that they do it in the poorest and roughest areas and leave theirselves wide open to being battered or forced into prostitution.
