Hi,
My dad is looking to buy an PDA for mum for her birthday, trouble is he has been out of the it circle for 12 months now so has no idea what is a good
PDA, so can anyone suggest good models? are palms still as good as they used to be?
any help would be appreciated
i use a dell axium x5
for sat nav and music
has an sd slot
does what it says on the tin
bluetooth as well
Dell do make some god ones!
Are there any that you can stick a simcard in to use as a phone?
A mate has the O2 XDA and im sure it works as a phone.
Its works on windows mobile and has GPS too.
Look at the MDA Vario II from T-Mobile. VERY useful, if a little flaky. Full Windows Mobile 5 PDA with Super-3G connectivity (and only 7.50/month
for 2Gb data on T-Mobile) and of course a phone.
It's not without it's problems, being a Windows device it's a little flaky and it's much better as a PDA than as a phone, but for
an all-in-one unit you can't beat it.
I use a Dell Axim X51V, top spec. Wasn't as stable as my old Palm until I loaded the latest firmware - hasn't crashed in 3 months. Has CF slot, SD slot, wi fi, bluetooth etc. Wouldn't be without it now.
I have a Dell Axim x50v which came with a compact flash adapter to allow a sim card to be used and turn it into a phone - I have never used it though. One day I might get around to putting it on ebay. PDA works great though.
