Snow warning
Johnmor - 10/2/07 at 06:01 PM

I thought i would point out the weather warning for the north East of Scotland for the next 24 hrs. From the MET office site.

"Snow, heavy at times, will lead to further accumulations of between 15 and 25cm, mainly on ground above 100m. This snow will drift in the strong to gale force winds. Blizzard conditions will be encountered on the mountains. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to Traffic Scotland for further advice on road conditions."

Also note the total lack of intrest by the BBC and other news channels.
Thats 6-10 " of snow and not so much as a metion on the TV

If it does not affect south of Leeds it doesn't seem to matter

I didn't realise there was any thing north of Leeds

darrens - 10/2/07 at 06:13 PM

erm, surely bbc scotland reported it, how did you get that info. To be fair, it pi##es me off when the news channels use the snow as a top story, it does happen!!

I'm sure the russians over here are laughing at our pathetic attempts to keep the road and rail networks open.

I always check the weather on the MET office web site.
Got a 0500 start in the morning, that should be fun as I already have 4" snow.

Damn it, it's all bloody melted down this way. I want more snow, less work and loads of sledging!

stevec - 10/2/07 at 06:49 PM

Where's Scotland.

DIY Si - 10/2/07 at 07:17 PM

I believe it's ooppp the far side of Leeds, or flipping miles away from us. I also seem to remember them all having ginger hair and silly hats!

It Disney matter what happens up there

My Brother in law is Scottish and he doesn't have ginger hair or wear a jock frock, he's alright. He was a welder till he retired last year.

The soft southeners have often called Scotland Disney Land.

Looks like they got it right again! 4 inches yesterday, this morning I wake up to a back garden full of slush....and the roads to the ski centres are still closed! Oli.

That is because they know that North of Leeds people can actually cope with snow and lives don't grind to a halt because of half an inch of white stuff (and I live slightly south of Leeds)
