Thats straight out of the build a 7 in a week DVD

Still makes you go when the 60mph then the 100mph pops up so quickly!

Cant view it from work but if its the maroon Megabusa with the rather irratic driver in shades and a passenger (Mike Brewer?) whooping away, Im very sceptical of the little subtitles that pop up stating 60 / 100mph etc, and there was no way he was topping out at 138mph when that flashed up either.

Still makes me want to get out in mine again ASAP though!

Three observations:
1) Those two nits should be wearing helmets. Any biker can tell you what a row a 60mph bluebottle makes clanging off your visor, imagine what it'd to to your eye
2) Why has bloke is passenger seta got hold of a bag? Strap the flippin' thing down you nit!
3) It's incredible how well the human eye can function when in a roaring wind. The driver takes his shades off at an (indicated but disputed further up this thread) 138mph and can presumably still see where he's going!

Still, cracking footage from (I presume) a bullet cam and one hell of a fast car

I think the 138 is probably dubious - I haven't been in a 7 at that speed but I doubt you would want to take your eye protection off, and if you did whether you could keep hold of them and pass them to your passenger - surely more likely to see them flying backwards. Can anyone comment?

try it yourself in yer tin top - drive along at 70 then stick you hand out of the window - quite a force, then bear in mint is inscreaes as the square of the speed.

I use hands for indicating on my mbike (not ridden for tomse time) and doing that at about 70 mph almost threw me off (with hindsight wasn;lt the wisest thing ever done).

He seems to be just trying to get the back out by throwing it in to every corner and being really erratic.

When he slows down a bit he does seem to be driving it quite smoothly.

TimC - 1/3/07 at 02:32 PM

I hate this DVD - it's awful.

Mike Brewer has clearly never seen a Tap before as he keeps going to his village idiot mate (apologies if that's someone's Uncle - I have a habit of putting my foot in my mouth) to get a thread tidied up.

That bloke is a shocking driver. He's supposed to be national rally champ or something. Not exactly smooth.

MikeR - 1/3/07 at 07:09 PM

if he is a national rally champ that might explain it. He's trying to throw the car around to make it oversteer - very rally ish approach.

Revett straight in MK Demo GSXR at snetterton 130+ MPH and my helmet was trying to leave my head!!!

I dont think they were doing that speed at all! Still great vid

Amazing vid...
Just ordered the dvd off the bay of 'E'

locoboy - 1/3/07 at 10:04 PM

Bri,

Its a crap DVD and that mike brewer is a pain in the ass and has not got a clue what he i going on about.

They just trivialise the build process.

Its a propper cheque book build, well not a build at all really, westfield assembled most of it and put it in a box and they opened it!

99% of the electrics seemed to get done overnight when the 2 guys building it were at home

TimC - 6/3/07 at 08:28 AM

If I remember rightly you can see 'Stomp' from the (much, much more enjoyable) "A Racecar is Born" series in the credits.

That would explain the electrics.
