Trailer with landrover wheels?
tegwin - 4/3/07 at 02:27 PM

Im looking at modifying a trailer so it will take landrover wheels (and increase the ground clearance)..

Does anyone know where I could find stub axle type things with drum brakes and landrover wheel bolt pattern? Or is it going to be a custom job?

Kinda like in this photo? Rescued attachment 5539_l.jpg

Landrover axles have floating halfshafts, ie the bearing sits on a stub axle and the halfshaft is unsupported.

If you get an axle off a landrover or classic rangerover the stub axles have six bolts that mate to the axle housing.

I,d buy a complete rear axle off fleabay for £10 and cut off the ends if you want to keep the brakes or unbolt the stub axles if not and through the rest away.
