Video Distribution...

OK boys & girls, I want to put one of our spare telly's in the garage so I may watch the Cricket World Cup while building my seven.

Laugh you may but if I had the money or opportunity to become a full time member of the Barmy Army I would gladly chuck everything else away!, including the wife!

Question is how to get the signal from the sky box to the garage. I have a cheap video sender jobbie I got off ebay and it is useless, to say the least.

The garage is about 20m from the sky box or 12m as the crow flies across the middle of the house.

Cables? or can anyone recommend a decent video sender?

Cheers,
Steve

The 2 piece video senders are much better than the transmitter-only ones.

You need one with a transmitter AND receiver (I've not used one myself just heard good things).

Ive got a Philips video sender, wasnt cheap, but isnt great. Doesn't like going through walls and picks up a lot of inteference.

I would go for a wired one if you can. Sky do one, i think Argos sell it.

Cheapest video sender from Argos (534/4273) is a good job. Plus you can take it back if it doesn't work. Click Here

Alternatively, most if not all sky digiboxes have an extra RF out socket on the rear. So a length of 75ohm coax and two plugs is all you need.

I'd go along with that, with the added advantage that if you buy one of those "magic eye" things, you can turn the sky over from in the garage.

This is loads of fun when your missus is watching sh1te in the lounge!

Cheers

Not sure about sky but Virgin Media box has a co-ax out the back. Pretty quick to run a fly-lead out to the garage....

Slingbox and sky multi room.

My sad brother lives in Luxembourg and pics up (via internet) connection to my fathers sky box.

Because he uses the "2nd room" he can control "his part" from Lux.

Very sad

The picture at the receiver is all red and green and could well be my wireless network.

just been to B&Q for 25m of coaxial, just hope the Sky box is up to pushing it that far
