I must be havin the worst day ever!
5, thats FIVE things have gone tits up for me today, Two of which are collosal, the other three not so bad.
First off.... I goes to get the last bit of vinyl I need for trimming only to find the place where I got the rest of it doesn't sell that type any more
Then goes to andy pages to get me a new battery for Indy as a treat only to find that the lad who said he would do me a good deal on one is not at work today nevermind, i'll go back on monday.
A couple of things go right for me then, such as fitted speedo and finaly secured the dash, also put in some new plugs and finds that the backfire has been cured with it.
Right me thinks i'll bob up the street and check out the speedo make sure it works?? Didn't get that far really as when I was reversing up the drive, my throttle cable stuck on distracting me to a point where I revesed into one of the gates "crunch" Thats one back arch F&$%ED (Anyone got any black Gel coat??)
Cup of tea to calm myself ond off we go again! This time reversed up the drive and onto the road all is going well till I go for first gear ( a little heavy handed) and snaped the gearstick inside the tunnel
Finaly whilst removing said gearstick I sliced my finger with a stanly knife while cutting through the carpet to get at the tunnel
That over with I'm now having a well deserved bevi and am felling a little better than I did half an hour ago
Oooo do I feel better for that.

I suppose there is a plus side to some of this today?
At least the gears went at the top of my drive and not out on the open roads, that would be a nightmare, and I weld for a living so repairing is not an issue! just a bit of time on my lunch on monday.
The battery i'll pick up on monday after work.
The only problem really is the wing, I can repair it no problem on monday night with a bit fiberglass & resin from work the only problem is the gelcoat, Anyone know if MK will have any they can sell me?? And at least my lights are not dammaged!

one final plus side is that sat here typing away to you lot has calmed me down a treat before swmbo gets home and has to listen to me!! so thanks to you all.

It can only get better

Not really on the same scale but this morning seemed to be "one of those days" for me as well.

Being a bit of a sucker for a gadget, Ive been eagerly waiting for a couple of months to upgrade my mobile phone to a Nokia N95 which is the latest all singing/dancing phone with built in GPS, but the release date for the phone kept on being put back and back.

Yesterday it was finally released so I ordered it pronto with the promise of delivery this morning. Suprisingly the postie comes up trumps and delivers me a package, but when I open it I find theyve sent me completely the wrong phone so Ive now got to wait until Monday/Tuesday to sort it out

I then had a phone call at 11:45 which reminded me I needed to be at a friend's 40th event at 1pm, an event Id completetly forgotten about all week, and an event that was about an hour away from me in a location I had never been to before! Mad rush ensued to note down the postcode, get out the door, jump in the car and switch on my phone to pick up the bluetooth GPS so I can use TomTom. Only at this time do I remember that my missus has the GPS unit in her car, and she was at work 50 miles away! Another bit of salt in the wound was that had I received my new phone as promised I could have used its built in Sat Nav!

Anyway I ended up going back indoors nd scribbling down the instructions from the website of where I was going which turned out to be wrong, but thankfully the afternoon went OK after finally arriving with 5 minutes to spare!
