Bloody inconsiderate gran decided to die the other week and I have to get down to Bristol on Wednesday.

Anyone know the best way?

Aiming for junction 18 of the M4.

Autoroute says:

M1

M42

M5

M4

We will be leaving about 8.00 in the morning and aiming for 12.00.

THE m5 IS the best motorway in the country

so if you can figure it in your route

went to teeside and back last w/end and that is my prefered route.

i used to use the AA route finder before i got sat nav, never had a fallout with it.

You can fly from LBA to Bristol. Might be worth a look

I did that route to Stroud the other weekend and it took me 2.5 hours.
Allow 30 minutes extra minimum for M1 Jnctn 32 contraflow at the time you will negotiate it and M42 (just in case of accidents) alone rest is pretty free flowing usually!

Exactly where from junction 18 M4 do you want to go? I do Barnsley to Bristol regularly takes 2.5 hours. I would allow 3 from Leeds and watch the cameras and variable speed limits on the M42 section as they are everywhere. I live in Yate which is not far from the area you will be near. If you are going to the crem at Westerleigh I can give you a better way than going round the m4 off the m5.

If you are meeting at the Compass then you are as quick going the way you origanally said as the compass is 400 yards from the motorway junction.
Is there a wake or such afterwards if so where so I can give you a route.

Wake is back at the Compass.

Get a big meal (paid for) at 12.00 and then a buffet after!
