Companies Taking money
darrens - 20/4/07 at 05:49 PM

What's the crack with companies taking your money in FULL on incomplete orders (i.e back order or manufacture time)

Should they really be able to do this?

Just a bit disgruntled as it's allot of doh!

We work on 30% when order placed, 30% when its ready for dispatch, 40% when its installed commissioned and you sign it off as such.

We do alter this too suit customers requirement if required but as a rule that's how we work.

depending on the customer and cost of project I work on 25% upfront and remaining 75% on completion. Some (known customers) 100% on completion.

I'm on about mail order stuff, i.e parts, seats, lights, bits and bobs.

Dolphin (part of moben) quoted to do our bathroom and said payment was on completion. Mind you, the pre-discount quote for our 2m x 2.5m bathroom was over £20,000

100% prior to work starting is stupid, how do they get away with this!!
