This may be a long shot. Im off to Newark at the weekend. My family all used to live in and around Ollerton. I recall 4 years ago or so my uncle got a pub on the outskirts. Cant remember if its in Boughton or Edwinstowe. My knowledge of the area is a bit dated as its been so long since i was last there. I seem to remember there was a pub on the main road called the carpenters but his was a few hundred yards away or so off the main road - Red Lion????

Anyone know it? Is a guy called John still the landlord? I seem to remember its a local drinking place rather than eatery / family pub.

I dont have a number for him and would like to surprise them - but dont want to call in if hes not there anymore!!

I may have answered my own question after finding this. Ive found details of a planning application last month in his name so looks like he is still there.
