A guy that works for me has broken his leg, and has a cast on but its not plaster its like a figerglass bandage, anyone know what it is or if you can buy it anywhere ? looks like it might have locost usage

There are several versions, the most common I've used is Dynacast. They're all a sort of fibreglass or plastic mesh with a water activated resin to set them, so you apply them by wetting them a bit and shaping them to fit whatever. But not of itself waterproof.

I thought it might make a nice radius edge for a dashboard though, suitably covered or painted

I suppose the stuff might make mold creation VERY easy! If you just want strength and a quick shape but don't care about waterproofing, it might be ideal.

Regular fiberglass/epoxy is nearly as easy to use. Get some slow-cure stuff, dip the fiberglass tape in some of it, lay it up. A little more mess I suppose though.

I built some outrigger pontoons out of epoxy/fiberglass, and I've fallen in love with the material. It's dreamy. *swoon* *swoon*
