Just to continue the first car related threads was just wondering how many people wish they could have their first car back or had kept it?
I still have mine, but then i haven't been driving on the road much, seeing as i only have a provisonal!
Not My first car but wish i had kept bits from my 4 mk2 escorts , 2 mk 1 escorts ,3 2 litre cortinas and 1 sierra. Think the bits would have come in
handy somewhere
I think sometimes yes.
But when I drive the missus 1.5 D corsa (very slow and VERY basic ) and then get back to my passat with all the mod cons it soon reminds me how bad
the cream fista would be compared to modern cars. suppose it would make me apreciate the current tin top a little more.

Maybe not the first car I drove regularly which was a beige Maestro 1.3 company car!
However my Corolla GTi whcih I bought from my sister did stay with me for 9 years in which time it had several engine transplants and was sold and
bought back twice. I know where it is still and would be easy to get back again .... but nah its too old now.
Yes - the SS Jaguar. Cost me £40.00 in 1961 and would probably be worth £40k now. But where would I have kept it ??
I also later had a Y Type MG saloon which would be worth a bit now too. But same question.
Why is it we only get hindsight when it's too late to use it ?
Mine was a frog-eye sprite - if I still had it I'd know how to fix the rusted-out floor... but not then...

That car was on a par with the best bike I ever had - a '79 Kwacker Z650C2 Silver Jubilee model (it had the same metallic ice-blue paint as the
Z1000 of the same era.)
I'd probably still have it if some low-life thieving scumbag hadn't stolen it from my back garden some 20-odd years ago. ) 
I still look for it now....

I still have my first car, 1988 Renault 5 GT Turbo, gathering dust in my Gran’s garage. The space would be useful for other things now but I don’t have the heart to sell it and it will be cool to dig it out in another 10 years time!

My first car was a 1963 morris minor, not too unhappy about not hanging on to it!
Had a cool fold up passenger seat though, that left loads of rooms for messing around with girlfriends
I loved my moggy to bits, but to keep it? No, happier with the memories 
I would have loved to keep my MKII Cortina ........

1980 Mini 1275 GT, with the 3 dial dash and 12inch wheels... Not sure I would still want it today.
Iwould like to still have my third car which was a 1985 series II audi 80 sport. I'd still drive that today
My first car was a 1962 Fiat 600 (which became a permanent part of an exhibit in the BC 1986 World's Fair - cast in a thin layer of concrete as
part of a salute to transportation...still had my plates on it!), followed by a 1965 Austin Mini Cooper Mk 1, which I miss terribly. Of all the
vehicles I've owned (and there have been many!), it was the most fun to drive, and to compete in.

Now, the 1973 Lancia Fulvia 1.3 I paid £15.00 for in 1985 that I couldn't get to work. Definitely
My old Fiat 500. Ditto, epsecially as their prices seem to have gone a bit silly recently.

Daimler dart, £1,800, DB6 £2,850, but could not be parted from my 3ltr capri ... doh
My second car I'd love to have another drive in, a Pug 309 SRi.
It had the same 1.6 injected engine as the 205GTi, weighed hardly any more so just as quick, and it handled beautifully. They weren't set up
quite as stiffly as the 205 suspension but very adjustable on the limit, and the best bit was group 7 insurance which enabled me to insure it for
reasonably money even at 19.
On second thoughts Im not sure I would like to drive one again as it might soil the memories if it turned out to be not as good as I remember!
Expo 86: missed all but the last day due to work in Ontario that summer.
No, I wouldn't want my first car back, but I wouldn't mind restoring my A_H Sprite that was in slight need of "body repair". The
highlight of that was when a group of people tried to steal it one night (from James Bay Square, Zetec), they couldn't even figure out how to hot
wire it!
Purely from a financial view, I bought it for £80 and sold it for £130, in todays market, probably the best part of £6000.
It was a sod, beautiful when running right, but I think I spent more time under it than in it, every trip was an adventure, electrical events
unexplained, mechanical unexpected, bodywork deteriorating at an alarming rate.
I was 17 when I bought it, I learned so much from it, opposite lock at 100mph plus, drifting on most corners, the luck of the devil kept me alive,
slowly added to with experience.
Do I want it back - YES, it was a little belter

From my list of cars I have owned I would have kept my Manta 2.0 GTE. we had many happy time in the days where 60 % of my wage was either in the tank
or peed against a wall on a Fri, Sat night.
Pulled the missus with that car.
Still never found as better gearbox cluchless changes up and down the box with a blip of the throtle an feel her in ( ooohh er ).
Siles had been patched that mant times she wasnt safe and had to go to the scrap yard in the sky.
Still went round he roundabout on her last voyage with the tail out.
Oh ive gine all sentemental.
Best go to bed.
