Can they be done on the cheap? Do you just load the memory card with new downloaded map?
Ive got a ONE if it makes a difference. Bought it 18 months ago. Really happy with it except the Pontefract A1 bit is narking me (i always seem to be
driving across fields around there!)
Cheers,
Darren.
I've been looking for the same thing dude. I think this is how they get there money back from selling the unit so cheap.
Rig
Is it not just as simple as one person gets a map upgrade and severalpeople can load it on the card and share the cost?
or is my simplefuzzylogic not as advanced as it should be
I have the full europe map on my computer (backup from a 710). You can put someone elses maps/card in your TomTom and it will work, but if you try to duplicate the map, you get asked for a code, which must be obtained through the TomTom website. If you are a real computer geek, there is probably a way around it, but I am not!
Try lim3wir3 ? or even torr3nts? They will surely have them..
(Sorry for the 3's lol, Just incase im doing anything illegal
)
check ebay for new maps, easy to up load on to card, most come with instructions, I got full europe maps for £6 don't think mr Tom Tom would be to happy ! you have to be quick because most of the "not so legal" one get taken off by ebay !
I've been told they definatly available on t'internet, without limewire, with codes, cracks , instructions, if you search the right words. But I couldn't be sure......
The later version of TT software in the One etc. uses maps that are encrypted to the units individual serial number, so they do not work on other units. Tried nicking my old mans France map from his One and it won't work on mine, just asks for a code.
You need a code generator.

They are also available on some of the torrent sites..... ahem.... so I am told..... Ahem.....
