The bloody reporter was even counting how many times he flipped... I counted 9'ish. Very nasty just goes to show how resilient these things are... I just hope he was ok!

That's why a full roll cage is a good idea

He was fine apart from suffering a broken arm, they now strap their hands to the steering wheel to stop peoples arms flying out the side and getting broken.

did you see in the second one, when the tin top clips the kit car, the driver is half out and gets knocked off the left could have been worse

That's why you stay in the car until the marshals have arrived! I appreciate all he wanted to do was get out of the way, but you'd be better off/safer in a bent Caterham than running about on foot.

Watching that first one i can't work out what causes the camera car to spin off, it doesn't seem to touch anything?!

Hellfire - 16/6/07 at 08:36 AM

It could be said that it's debatable whether the roll cage actually assisted the first roll, thereby allowing the car to build centrifugal momentum to continue the subsequent rolls. Is that why they call it a roll cage?

What is undeniable, is that it saved his life when he hit the tyre wall...
