Thanks for help for my post yesterday Link about the vibration from the wifes
discovery. I have checked out all the suggestions and after further investigation of the front o/s cv joint it seems pretty well knackered. There is
about 1 1/2" of play when i rotate the wheel and it clatters when on full lock. Silly question i know but do you think this will cause a
vibration?? Has anybody changed one of these? Its only about £30 for the kit but its more car building time being taken up but has to be done to keep
in the good books and get brownie points

Ronnie
She says its my fault as i do things like this with it

Had the same problem on my Galaxy also got more noise/vibration while accelerating and on the overrun.
Noise/vibration was road speed specific not gear specific and was still there in nutral wile moving along.
easy job jack up remove wheel remove drive flange (get new gasket for this) remove caliper and disc/hub (get new locking tab washer between hub nuts
) remove ring of bolts on stub axle(new gasket here) and remove cv joint it'll take you no more than an hour unless you get any problems rebuild
in reverse order worth repacking front wheel bearings with grease and dont over tighten bearings if the bearings are running in oil stub axle seal
will be us and worth refilling swivels with landrover one shot grease part no stc3435 hope this helps andy

I doubt a CV joint will that amount of free play, more like the diff !
Easy to change but you get two sizes so make sure you get the right one.
