I've seen posts about Ford CD players, but can anybody tell me how to go about finding the code for a Vauxhall Cd player (CDR 500)?

find the supplying dealer of the vehicle and ring them, all radio codes should be logged at pdi or go to the nearest dealer to you go into parts and order a radio/security passport card which should have the original radio code and immobilizer codes for your car or check in the bookpack of your car for a small oblong card.
if the radio is not the original for the car then you may just have to take it and have it decoded/read

Take out the ashtray, and look underneath, lots of people write it on there. OOOPPPS! given the game away. Ray

you could also try taking the radio/cd out as the code could be written/ stuck to it

I'm interested in this one too as I had my battery changed about a month ago and I haven't had a radio since (Vectra).

My local Vauxhall dealer wants £23+VAT to give me the code to my own f***ing stereo!!

Might give those links a try too....
