Very odd question to ask but whats the best stuff ie cream or wax etc to keep my new leather sofa clean and soft?

Stick a blanket over it and don't sit on it

We have just got a new leather sofa and was told to only use a damp cloth no detergent to clean it by the shop .
What did the shop advise you ?

They work a treat, I kid you not.

warm water whenever i feel like it, and 6 monthly polishes with the leather care stuff.
