Radical At It Again
Duncan_P - 4/7/07 at 12:12 PM

I know that it bears little relation to the more Locost end of the market but radical were obviously not content with the devestatingly fast SR8 and have uprated it.

Linky

Probably a little too fast and expensive for a track day tool and 30 hrs between engine rebuilds!!!!

But it would probably make a reasonable value race car (for the pace it has) until the series organisers banned it of course

ETA - I know these motors are expensive (and you ignore the 30 hr rebuild) BUT how about a 450bhp N/A se7en .......I might have to win the lottery first though

For a pukka race car 30hr rebuilds will get you through a whole season if you don't go mad on testing.

Obviously no good for the road or even trackdays, though that 30hrs is assumed to be almost all at max RPM, gentler use will extend the life considerably.

Still much too rich for me

"at £89K ready to race, the SR8LM is also extremely good value.”

I remember when £89K bought you some thing "ready to move into"?

TBH it probably is good value in respect to performance/£

How much would a race prepped 911 GT3 RS cost? A lot more would be my guess and would be significantly slower.....

Or perhaps a more interesting comparrison would be with a Gould hillclimber, I dont know what the market price of a new one of these is but im guessing a lot (a Judd engine alone is eye watering)........I would certainly be very interested to see a on circuit comparison between the SR8LM and a similar priced Gould

Couple of villages down from me, not the nicest place in the world, but not Bagdad either.

looks a damn nice house for the money - i bet that makes a few southerners feel ill!

kipper - 4/7/07 at 07:30 PM

by eck that house looks good but look at the size of the garage. You will never get two cars and work on them in there

higgsti - 4/7/07 at 08:02 PM

one of the westfield speed series lads has got powertec v8 in his westy 30hrs between rebuilds at £7000 a time

greggors84 - 4/7/07 at 08:10 PM

Im looking at 2 bed apartments for a little bit more than that!

roadrunner - 4/7/07 at 08:22 PM

Plenty of room on the drive though, and what do you mean two cars Kipper.

We just got our two bed maisonette valued for the mortgage company - 220k I nearly spat my coffee at the surveyor when he said it, the house has been earning more than me for he last couple of years.

Of course, not that it does me any good whatsoever, as every other property for a hundred miles around is going up at the same rate
