Looks dangerous to me!
I know who built it and it is well made.
It is only as dangerous as the loon riding it
Does it handle well?
Theory says that it should handle as well as a car if it has a 'proper' diff. The COG might be a little high, but think formula car you sit on rather than in.
Top marks for the crazy idea and making it a reality, but in the real world doesn't it simply give you most of the disadvantages of a bike (being exposed, having to wear helmet/leathers etc), without the major advantage of being able to nip through traffic and make quicker progress on the road?
Quads are generally pretty dangerous on the road and do not handle well. The problem is they have the same high COG as a bike, but whereas a bike
leans over, balancing the forces and taking COG hight out of the equation, a quad does not lean (or more to the point, it shouldn't!). You have
to move you weight as far to the inside of the bend as possible to stop them tipping over and even then you can't corner that fast.
It's not a legal requirement to wear a helmet but it's pretty foolish not to!
That said, must be loads of fun and wouldn't say no if I was offered one
Looking at the front suspension/steering I can say that it appears there will be significant bump steer. It looks like the design would benefit from a
lowering of the CoG and a change up front to the steering system.
That said.... I love the idea. I've been mulling over the idea of a single seat sporting/commuter car for well over a year now and this is closer
to what I've been designing than anything so far. Got to get the seating position lower and a proper steering wheel....
