An interesting autograss vid, shot in car on a class 8 special at the MAP open event I was ratting on about on here a month or so ago.
Its not good quality fpr obvious reasons, but gives you some idea of things in a special like my old one.
Bear in mind the straights are around 150 yards long on this track.
I don't think the rules allow in car cameras so whether the driver still has his license I don't know!
Autograss class 8 in car
what does class 8 special mean. any engine or power. looks like a lot of fun.
adam
class 8 is up to 1400cc, car or bike engine.
its basically these days an R1 or blackbird engine, tuned, in the back of a very light spaceframe built to the NASA autograss rule book.
To be competitive, 175hp in a 385kg car with decent suspension works.

screen looks a bit agricultural, but the screem is fine!!!!
screen is as per the regs, and has to be pretty robust as it needs to stop a fist sized rock at 100mph.
I have had a biggie hit mine at 70+ and it broke the weldmesh but didn't come through. I had another come through the 1.5mm ally panel on the
front of the chassis!
Had an 1/2 shaft come through one once, the vid whilst ok imho doesnt do class 8 racing justice, its much more manic than that........
OUCH
That's one of those ones you tell yourself you'll never see again so not to worry about it isn;t it Jon!!!!!
Yes, it doesn't do the racing justice, but its the first autograss in-car I have seen other than first hand
Think I might sort a cam for mine if its ok with the scrutes (i.e. me! ) when I get it racing again next year, would be good to review how poor I am!!
