Can't write CD's
wicket - 11/7/07 at 09:03 AM

As subject. The event log shows the following entry for every failed attempt

The device, DeviceCdRom0, has a bad block

Any ideas what needs to be done to resolve the issue.

It means the internal disc check is failing. Either there's a problem with the disc or the CD-ROM....

If it's a CD-RW its usually the disk that is shagged. If it's burning a CD-R or +R (or reading a brand new (ie unscratched CDROM) you're having problems with it's likely the burner going wrong.

There's lots of possible fixes out there on the googlenet!!!
Some people find cleaning the lenses help, some people find doing a firmware update works, some people find a new burner works There's even a registry hack out there that people have used....

Good luck...
