awww.. ..sniff..

although I did keep wondering if he might have resented someone else finishing off his project. for some people, the build is the fun bit!

alister667 - 12/7/07 at 08:04 AM

Nice one. Great gesture.

BTW I have a bit of a headache coming on, anyone fancy putting a Porsche 924 through an MOT for me?

bilbo - 12/7/07 at 08:07 AM

I read this earlier. It was very kind of them and all that, but I can't help but think the guy was secretly thinking 'Oi! I was going to do that!'

locoboy - 12/7/07 at 08:22 AM

Good job it wasn't Calvins car or the welding would have been up for scrutiny and all the geopmetry would no doubt have been set up wrong,

oh and he would have changed his mind about restoring it anyway and decided to sell if off and buy an MNR

"I was so overwhelmed, I cried like a baby and then passed out. "

Personally I wouldn't like anyone to finish something I started but then your priorities change when you have a serious illness.

DaveFJ - 12/7/07 at 08:26 AM

It doesn't really make clear the full details. I take it to mean that he was incapable of continuing the build.
Given the option of abandoning my project or having it finished for me I know which route I would take.....

I just think it shows that there is some hope in this selfish world we now occupy (Oo that was a bit deep!)

You forgot ..... and the chassis will be reduced to granules, boiled down to a metallic liquid goo and shot into space to a far off galaxy.

Exactly!

"but then your priorities change when you have a serious illness. "

Not necessarily Razman. I look at my disabilities as an excuse to buy power tools.

thesnake505 - 12/7/07 at 04:58 PM

i work with a guy involved with this, it was all set up on here http://www.lotusespritforum.com/

the people involved were from all around the country, and the had lotus involved as well!

i think its an amazing thing to do for some one, from what i gather the car wouldnt ever have been finished cause of how ill the guy was!

If I was still able to do it, then I would secretly be a bit peeved, but also glad it was done at the same time. If, however, I was incapable of completing it, then I would be over the moon, and buying the beers for a good while. I'd probably look at it as a really, really big get well soon gift!
Also, good to see there are a few good, decent folk out there still. Other then on here of course.
