Hi
I've recently bought a Merc 190 with the intention of using it to tow.
I've seen this on ebay:
Tow-bar linky
Does anyone know how hard it might be to fit? Also, are electrics easy enough to sort?

don't think it's all there [ parts missing ]
Yes, I think I'll leave that one. Any tips/recommendations?
Have a look at towsure at Sheffield

Looks to me like thats only the detachable bit.
As far as electrics go with modern cars having can bus, mutiplex wiring systems. tis company do plug in modules that take away the hassle of relays
for indicators, fog light cut out and ESP. Dead simple to do and helpful guy. Took me an hour to do the tow bar and 10 mins for the electrics on my
Vectra and five mins of that was getting the carpet out the boot to get at the control panel to plug the module in.

Ring my mate Glynn - you've met him before.
He works for a tow bar company and will sort you out.
iv just fitted a towbar to my k reg merc 190e got it from towsure it was £37 with vat and delivery they even put a free towball in with it and a towball cover only thing i will say is with the cheap towbar they do you have to cut the bumper but simple to fit
As above, this is only the detachable tow bar. I fitted a towbar from Towsure also, to a 99 Volvo. The bumpf that came with it said that the tow bar
assembly will go on in 30 mins; 4½ hours later and finally got it on! The car was low mileage and in good condition bodywork and minimal rust
underneath, BUT the nuts welded onto the chassis, where the supplied bolts went in were rusted inside probably due to water getting in there and
sitting for ever!
The bolts were effectively too big for the hole - lot of WD40 and 'gentle' manipulation and finally got them in. Electrics I thought would
be the biggest worry, but they turned out to be a piece of cake - very straightforward. Would definitely do it again but preparation and realistic
timings probably a good idea next time.
