hi guys. My next challenge
Theres some on ebay for 90 quid, apparently its a 1.5 hour job! Does this sound reasonable or should i just take it to a shop to get it done
Cheers!
IIRC they just bolt through the chassis into captive nuts which are already there..
Id have a bash yourself. My passat was 1.5 hour job. Took me less than an hour to fit it and wire it up.
I can email you a fitting instruction tomorrow whenI'm in work. If you u2u me your email, i'll do it first thing.
Extender plates either side and a central transverse bar bolted to the plates, one of the easier ones.
nice, i was looking underneath and thinking of making one myself, concluded it would have to mount near the suspension mounts or those
'things' at the sides - im guessing the wheel well is a little flimsy!
What does wiring entail? Is it literally snipping and splicing wires?
cheers!
tom you have u2u
get the scotch/3m clip on piggyback wiring thingies if the car doesn't have a prewired socket somewhere under the boot trim. wiring colours will be in the back of the haynes, then just plug in a trailer board or continuity test from the centre pin to each circuit.
