BMW 3 series drivers seat question
Alan B - 31/7/07 at 11:12 PM

My son has a 323 Ci with it's drivers seat stuck at full forward adjustment. I don't why it got adjusted fully forward but trying to send it back gets no response from the adjustment switch.

A few questions....

I'm sure it would be fixable if I could get the seat out, but how?

Is there a manual overide or some manual means of sliding the seat back?

This has got to be the most frustrating auto problem I've encountered.......

Any clues much appreciated.

Cheers, guys

Is there anything in the handbook/owners manual. Obvious I know but the number of times I've gone looking for answers when it's already documented somewhere under your nose..

Ned.

If it's not the fuse, I've successfully brought alfa romeo electric seat motors back to life with a helpful tap of a hammer. A bit like the way a good tap can rescue a stuck starter motor I suppose.

Failing that there ought to be a manual movement method. My vauxhall omega has a little hand cranking handle to move the seats manually. You're simply turning the seat motor by hand. Takes a bloody long time too!
