Chuffed to bits
nitram38 - 4/8/07 at 07:29 PM

I took my 12 year old son to a rally tarmac day at donington park today.
He has never driven a geared car before.
All I did was teach him the racing line in karts in the Dominican Republic last year.
There were 15 boys aged from 11 - 15.
My son came second!
They told him that his time was faster than some of yesterdays adult's times.
He has been invited back for a "Champions" time trial later this year.

i take it there is a lower age limit of 11 for this as i'm sure my eldest would love to do something like this in a year or 2

Confused but excited. - 4/8/07 at 08:51 PM

In these terrible times, when species after species becomes exctinct, it is nice to see that one species (petrolheadicus mentalis) is beginning to flourish again, despite all the government's efforts to erradicate it.
Rock on junior!

The lowest age is 10 ! although I didn't see many younger kids there. Most of them looked about 13-15.
The half day junior rally cost £99.
Their website is in the photo
Unfortunately no Newlands. I have just got in from work, it's 5.30am !
