Laser levels - recommendations please
Simon - 9/8/07 at 07:59 PM

Peeps,

We're thinking of getting a self-levelling (ie automatically does it itself, rather than a do it yourself) laser level at work.

Any of you have a fave - we have a budget, but the old man won't tell me what it is I'd guess up to a £100 or so. Obviously within 50% might be acceptable.

Thanks

ATB

Simon

they are usually junk. I got one, used it once, its sat in the box ever since. In 99% of situations its easier to use a normal level. If you were in a large room it wouldnt be that accurate anyway.

not very good mate i dont like them i have tryed 3 and went back to my water level its always 100% spot on unlike a cheap £99 laser level

It's not actually for doing building work, it's on artwork that we need to get level or vertical.

It's a right pita using a plumb line hanging from a rafter - takes ages to set up, and swings in the wind

One of our clients turned up with one, turned it on, checked the work in about 10 secs, so it would pay for itself.

Cheers
