locoboy - 4/9/07 at 01:38 PM

Im trying to sell my car,

I dont want to Ebay it but if i have to then its got to be done.

I sell and buy a bit on ebay and was wondering would it be best listed on Ebay motors, or just regular ebay?

or are they one and the same, ie list it on ebay and because its a car it will end up on ebay motors???

Thanks

My first port of call would be Pistonheads. Have you tried there at all??

Tried pistonheads? It's free. Not much more locost than that.
Sold my old Rover on ebay, got pretty much no money for it, won't be doing that again in a hurry.

I sold my daughter's Golf Gti on Pistonheads - got pretty much what I wanted for it, at no advertising cost or commission.

Only sell cars on eBay if you need shot of them quickly and don't care if it goes for pennies.

you can now list cars on fleabay as "classifieds" rather than a regular auction listing. so you get the pro's of a large ebay audience, but none of the p1ssing about with auctions etc.

In answer to your first question, yes it will just appear in ebay motors.

and without patronising you, you can always put a reserve on it. But if you do that, then put the reserve as clear as day in the advert so it won't put quite as many people off...

Competition for buyers is fierce. I think a locost-derived car has got to be exceptional to sell fast.

I think I would have registered it.

OK you state its SVA'd, but having to register it could possibly put people off. ie they might think you are trying to hide something.

Hope you get your price. It Looks nice!

It was a trade off between getting it out there and before the season ended and waiting for registration.............i hear what you say and i pndered putting it up un registered myself.

Its now in the process, and i should have had my registration number from DVLA today but never got the call.

I will update he advert in a day or two once i have plates on it.
