HI

I bought one in January and am very pleased with it. Have a look at theCanon Forum it has a place to post photos and advice etc. i'd say buy one NOW! lol

i was going to get a 400d but then i defected away from a string of 4 canons to get a pentax K100d and i can honestly say i am well chuffed with it, the money i saved instead of buying a 400d i went and got a 70-300mm tamron lens and i think it was a much better package than the 400d,

only problem ive got with it is that there is only one obvious upgrade to keep the lenses, the k10d, which is good but with the canons you've got a huge choice of upgraded bodies,

oh and the shake reduction on the K100d if absolutley brilliant, i have taken photos on a 300mm focal length on a 8th of a sec shutter speed hand held and no blurs what so ever

great camera, i love it and unless you intend to print bigger than A3 the 6 MP is no issue

all IMHO of course

if youve got your heart set on a 400d go for it, you wont be dissapointed but all i would say is that the 100d can more or less compare with the 400d for a lot less £££

I was dead set on a Canon last year when I was looking for my first digital SLR That was until I held the 350D, it just didn't feel right. Too tiny for me by far and my hands/fingers seem to fall in all the wrong places. I ended up buying a Nikon D50 that felt a lot more like a normal SLR that I was used too, very sturdy and nicely made.

So do make sure you go and quite literally "try them out for size" mate.

Cheers

Dave

I have the 400D and love it....

However....if you want to shoot in really low light then forget it, it gets noisy over ISO 800...

2.Having said that...

This was taken at night with nothing more than the moon to light it up...(check out the noise...)

And this one shows how clear you can get it at fast shutter speeds...

Its an awsome camera, but if you start trying to do some funky photography it reaches its limits.....If I had the money I would upgrade to the eos 40D...
