Need a van in Liverpool - to clear garage ready for locost
Dangle_kt - 12/9/07 at 05:10 PM

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone lives in Liverpool area and fancies a crate of ale for helping empty my garage.

Its full of random odds and sods, but I need it empty - on friday night - ready for the delivery of my locost!!

Hiring a van is a pain because I'm 24 (under the magic 25 age limit on most, and those that will hire to me want alot of cash) and my wife who is 25 is recovering from a C-section and isnt allowed to drive!

I have cocked up somewhat with my timings and hoping that someone who doesn't mind driving there van could help out.

For transit size van will require 1 or maybe two trips to the tip (open till 8) and then a trip to crosby to drop off a set of fridge/freezers to a family member. I'll be doing most of the work, you just need to drive and lend a hand with the heavy stuff.

Crate of 20 cool ones awaits...

long shot but worth asking

cheers!

if no one bites - try finding 'a man with a van'. usually advertise in the local papers.

at the tip by me you have to book your van in 24hrs before and only take 8 bags every 4 weeks. so i would phone yours and find out cause it will be p**er if you get there and get turned away. not that i did

Tips near us require permits to allow vans onsite. Permit requires reg number and description of what's being tipped. Woprth calling into local one to you and asking the situation.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news but not as easy as you might think any more.

Can the council collect the big stuff and then you make a few trips in car with smaller bits and bobs. My council will collect for a small fee (but not from Liverpool)

You're in Liverpool right?

Stick the stuff on your front drive with price labels attached and a large FOR SALE sign.

By the morning it will all be gone, along with your garage door, house contents ....

Normally I would laugh, but after having all my motorbikes stolen out of garage - TWICE within a few weeks thats a bit fo a sore subject.

I'm looking forward to moving back to Lancashire!!

About the van - done it before, no worries. I find a packet of biscuits goes a long way with the guys who work there, plus merseyside tips are a lot less strict than most.

No one was been able to offer anyway, so looks like I'm going to have to postpone my delivery.

Sorry oldmanmillie if your reading this before I've called. I'll be in touch tomorrow - dont want to ring now - as its late in case you've got your granddaughter is staying.

Got bloody camera's in our tip, reads your number plate,go there more than a few times a month and you risk getting a letter, but i've found out if you tailgate another car going in it cant see your plate
