ive finally started building my garage at home which has full permission even though its under 4m high and well away from the house,im thinking of applying to raise the roof height and convert the apex roof to a dutch barn type and make proper use of it for storage but i dont know how to do it,does these sort of changes have to go through the whole process or is there a quicker way of getting a decision?

if you have already got planning then you can send them new plan and ask for a change, as you also have planning you are allowed 1 free re submission,

best way is to speak to the planners with a drawing of what you are proposing as they could approve the redesign without requiring a full planning process (but make sure you get it in writing), but if not at least they will give you and idea if they will reject a new application.

The best thing to do was not to apply in the first place!
They cannot refuse permission as long as it is not intended for residential occupancy, then its a different ball game.
Look on the PlanningPortal website in the general public area at the interactive house, this is a good guide.

i had to apply for full permission as it sits on three boundaries and is 55' x18' wide
