Pretty heavy!!! I'd reckon about 15kg....

macspeedy - 24/9/07 at 03:52 PM

SWEET

BenB - 24/9/07 at 03:53 PM

Wow! 25kg!! I'm stronger than I thought

I know when I installed my diff I had to install it by lying underneath my car on my back in the fetal position, resting the diff on my knees and shins whilst bolting it in place (someone had the engine crane).....

The lactic acid built up pretty quickly!!!

marcotuinenburg - 24/9/07 at 03:55 PM

Yes, much to heavy, i would say 25 kgs.

scotty g - 24/9/07 at 04:06 PM

You think a Sierra diff is heavy - try a 1975 Jag XJ6 one

Oh the laughs at A&E if that had gone wrong, especially when they found your profession

In the words of Harry Enfield 'there was absolutely no reason for that accident to happen'

Yeah, I've got a 2.88:1 LSD unit to chuck in Deimos at some point -

48kgs - just got to lose three stone to retain the status quo

Undo bolts and run

Seriously, I've just been out to the garage for your benefit and weighed the bits I have:

Diff 47kgs
Pair W/bones 17kgs
Pair D/shafts 30kgs
Pair Discs 10kgs
---------
104kgs

PLUS calipers, cage, nuts and bolts etc could be another 30+kgs - so BE CAREFUL.

You're looking at the best part of 300lbs, more if wheels are still on!
