SVA Motor Bike ?
Macbeast - 27/9/07 at 06:33 AM

Had a question from a young guy walking past my build. He is building a motor bike.

Presumably a self build bike has to pass SVA too and would it be at same SVA station as for cars? (My nearest is Edmonton I think)

He'll need an MSVA (same concept lots of different rules (obviously) mostly making it easier.

Test centres here ->

Seems to be a subset of the SVA stations from a first glance.

Thanks Ian, will pass it on.

Nothing in London then, nearest seem to be Gillingham or Chelmsford

A lot depends on how many many parts he is using which are not from donor bikes. If he has an inspection they will tell him whether he needs the MSVA or not.

As Peteff says it depends what he is doing.
Rules for deciding are the same as for cars.

The MSVA manual can be ordered from VOSA (here) I'm not aware of a dodgy pdf on the net like the car manual.

The trike boys seem to have it covered
