Just dawned on me today that my car is rather bizzarely proportioned, though i set of a few records and claim provisional pole so to speak....
widest cockpit at 50inches
longest nose on a front engined car, 30inches from cam cover to frontmost bar.
and hand in hand with that the longest steering column that i couldnt be bothered measuring.
Anyone beat these or care to set another?
and whilst im at it, i think ive also got the fastest build up of inane posts as well... 300 in 50 days
how big's that viento?
or doesn't that count? (does it have to be 'home built'?)
Ned.
both you and ned have a very high post rate for the time you have been on the board. I enjoy reading your posts. Im not complainingin any way....im
in no position to, but its taken 18 months to get my qty, and id much rather have people in front of me...!
My car is 48 ins wide, so you just beat me there. Steering shafts quite long.....always appreciated long shafting...

mines 48" on the cockpit and 48" from the footwell to the front rad member (LD) plus the nose extends 12.5" past that and the rear of the nosecone is 28.5", with a height of 8.5 " above the chassis the overall height of the engine chassis area is 15" and i need a bonnet hump of about 3" to clear the air filter.

Hows about 73 1/4 inches from rear arch to the other side?
Mmmm, Dax arches.....
That is pretty staggering. Whats it wear, diablo tyres?! Or do u use the arches as a kennel for the dog when its parked?
Other side of where... Pately Bridge! That's a big Arch.... no wheels under the arch, but I'd only get my feet wet, not my back!!!
and believe it or not, but I actually cut an inch and a half off either arch....
As standard, the arches are HUGE (well actually, they still are...), but when fitted to a Dax, their chassis width is pretty much identical to a std
locost. As mine is +4 inches, and with the amount I chopped out of the arches, my car is approx an inch wider than a Dax.
But I think I might be hacking a little more out of them this winter, because it still looks under tyred (surprisingly!) Then it will only be
71 inches wide.....
