BMW and Williams under investigation

By Jonathan Noble Sunday, October 21st 2007, 20:50 GMT

BMW Sauber and Williams are under investigation of the Brazilian Grand Prix race stewards, autosport.com has learned.

Representatives of both teams were summoned to the stewards' office after their cars failed post-race inspection at Brazil.

The problem is believed to be in the tempature of the fuel samples taken from the cars of Williams's Nico Rosberg and BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld.

The trio finished the race in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

So from that it would say the fuel has been chilled too much in the fueling rig then and not in the car.

I really hope the championship isn't decided on a stupid technicality like this. Raikkonen deserves his win and I doubt Hamilton would want to win like this. I hope the stewards see sense and just dock some constructors' points.

Teams escape punishment over fuel

"However, the total advantage for each car over the race distance was almost certainly no more than a second. "

In F1, that is massive!

It's quite a bit but not enough to have made a difference to the result. I think the teams should be penalised but the result should stand.

1 second over 71 laps is massive??

sure a joke of you? 1000ms / 71 = 14miliseconds per lap. Thats 14/thous of second. Dock constructors points... i'm with that one. isn't nice for williams and also not for BMW (they wont reach the 100points mark)

In my opinion they should put/write the penalties allong with the rulez! in that way it isn't difficult anymore the give someone a penalty!!

sow just before the season starts everyone knows which penalty is given at wich act against the rulez. it makes more sense in my opinion.

Tks
