hi my dads head gasket has gone on his van a 2.5 ldv with a perkins engine. anyone ever changed one and whats involved.
thanks adam
I take it you are talking 200 series?
Theyr quite easy and straight forward. Plenty of room etc.
Front slam panel off and rad out loads of room.
hi Danozeman do you no if there timing chain or something like that. because we are thinking of doing it ourselfs but we dont no if it will be a pain
with the chain.
adam
Are you sure it's Perkins? The 200 & Pilot used the Perkins developed Austin Rover diesel but it was just a 2.0 l. The bigger vans used 2.5
engines but they were Landrover (it'd have to be an old van for that!), Peugeot & Transit engines. Not to say someone hasnt stuffed a Perkins
A4 type engine in it from a tractor, seen them in plenty Landrovers!
Just had a thought, by 2.5 do you mean the badge on the back door? That's in relation to weight rather than engine size I think.
I think he means badge on the back. It can be misleading.
The 2.0 is belt driven.
