As per the title, Movimaker keeps locking up whenever I edit any of my video, so looking for a simple alternative. Just want something which will cut sections out of stuff already filmed, important that it works with multiple formats as I use Mp4, Divx plus video tape transferred to pc.

Any suggestions? I've Googled it but there are a bewildering array & the first couple I've tried are useless.

Windows Movie Maker will do simple stuff, but of course you have to save file as WMV.

Otherwise maybe try VirtualDub?
