i need something like a sledge,must be >1 meter long,prefer strong plastic and be able to slide up (with the help of a winch) and down slopes loaded with about 1/4 ton of equipment,thought of a plaster bath or cold water tank and be readily available and lastly reasonably cheap

Many moons ago while camping with scouts we happened upon a Reliant door at the side of the M62! Some nice snowy hills, a built in handle to hold on to and away we went. One broken thumb later and a few minor head injuries but in all a temendous afternoons sledging!

Don't know what weight it would take though!
