ipods are crap...

sony ftw, or creative zen i'm told.

Personally I really like my ipod, more difficult to upload than an mp3 player but excels in battery life and features. If I was going to get one again I'd probably now buy the iphone instead, really fancy one of those

Id go for a sony or creative zen. I hate ipods...

Why when something is said to be mp3 player compatible does it say Ipod compatible not Mp3 player compatible. Does my head in!!

i was on a plane once, and the in the safety thing, the guy said, switch off all mp3 players and ipods... ipod people often seem to think ipods are something special. give it a year to 18months, and you battery will be dead, and out of warranty

Well its now nearly been two years with my fifth gen ipod, and all i can say is so far its not let me down. Battery life is still at around 10-15 hours with the backlight on moderate. iTunes is also one of the better interfaces imho especially after using creative mediasource, which i have to say is one of the hardest pieces of software to use.

Also having had a creative Zen Xtra 30GB the ipod beat it hands down in every aspect - size, weight, usability...

I have an iPod, my daughter has an iPod, my son has a Creative Zen - my wife after playing with both....

wants an iPod.

Although the Creative is slightly cheaper, the materials and build quality is not as good as the iPod - the interface (which allows you to play the music) is far more user friendly on the iPod. The iPod battery lasts longer than the Zen (it appears). Although I am NOT keen on iTunes (as it tries to take over your computer) is user friendly. All things considered - it is the best selling MP3 player - for a reason... it's the best!

IMO Steve
