Hi,
A while ago I got a little 49cc minimoto engine for a job that fell through.
Its sat on the shelf since.
Now I have a welder (its an arc welder so not ideal) I thought I'd have a go at fabricating a rough arse go kart using the little engine.
Anyone got any go kart plans to help me on my way?
It is not meant to be the next Tonykart or Zip. I do not have the skills to even make it half decent.
But I do want to at least get forward motion, steering and brakes.
cheers
Rather try find an old kart to refurbish and put the motor on
When I was Karting I was forever fielding questions from people looking for bits to build a "yard kart".
I used to tell them that, by the time you have bought (or made, if you can) an axle, bearings, bearing carriers, sprocket and carrier, a brake system,
wheels, tyres, rod ends (for steering) a steering wheel, front stub axles, etc you are much better off finding an old rolling chassis, which will have
all those bits on it in one package.
Even if' it's nackered for racing it will be fine for lashing a small motor on to. Try to find some active kart racers, most will know where
to find an old chassis.
Or do this

Haynes do a manual for a simple DIY kart
Failing that. Go to Halfords or the likes, take a few pics and use them as a guide.
Failing that. You will probably find plans on fleabay for a couple of quid

I've got an old home made cart that I intend to put on ebay in the spring, currently has a BSA bantam engine on it. Modified with no gearbox.
If youe interested then PM me.
