I feel sorry for her. We see alot of stupid things like that at work (not as serious though) as all our customers as pensioners.

What's an 80 year old doing on t'interweb and email anyway??

(Waits for responses)

smart51 - 13/12/07 at 12:40 PM

Ignorance and nievety most likely. Educated people know that lawyers don't charge you large sums of money to inherit something and that people who do this to you are fraudsters. If you are told that you have inherited something, you will generally persue it. It isn't necesarily greed.

You've got to ask though, if you are the only relative of some dead guy, what about my brothers / sisters, cousins etc.

Why shouldn't an 80 year old go on the internet

Sitting in a house probably on her own obviously gives her something to do.
At 49 that's why I go on the internet and I have a job to fill 50 hours a week

In any case she might be building a Locost

My mum in law is well on the way to 80 and she uses the internet for shopping

end of rant!

Can you believe the BBC's advice, though:

"Anyone who receives a scam e-mail should contact their local police station." !!! I bet the rozzers would love that - I would be down there every day several times.

I got the first book not long after it came out. Reading through it I do think champion could have built it for £250 at the time but most of his materials were scrounged or second hand and donors were cheap. I think if I had been as resourceful as him and willing to put the time in to getting stuff cheaply, I could also have been close to that cost. Remember the first cars were very very basic indeed.
