It depends, but I have some "Lexan"

You can get several types of acrylic.
Perspex is damn expensive, and the newer acrylics are probably more forgiving.

B&Q do some 4mm sheets for a good price, you could make two or three from their small sheets. (for mistakes or sales opportunity)

May not be what you have in mind, but they are effective!
